What size is the road (racing) bike should I buy?
Im 6'2 "tall and is planning to upgrade my old bike mountian confidence for a road bike, but do not know what size frame, wheels etc to get. I know that the seat should be at about the level of hips but this does not help when buying online! I usually use 32 "/ 34 leg jeans" if it makes a difference? If someone could give me a framework of trust and the average size of tires, etc., would be very useful! Cheers
Ok …. forget what you know about the frame size and all the standover height. This is not how to choose a table (which is a factor and a decent starting point, but other factors are much, higher). There's nothing like spending some quality time with a bike shop to figure good size that suits you better …… seriously. Setting from different manufacturers are measured a bit off a frame size of the advertisement to another. If there is no way you can do this with an employee store, and if you have a 34 "long real (the crotch-word-not the size of their clothes), then take a frame of 60 cm. Must be near spot-on for your height and size of the seam, and you can change the fit with the elements if necessary. A 58cm frame could also fit well, according pipe dimensions and geometry of the bike. If your leg is closer to 32 "and then finally get the 60cm because you need the extra top tube length. good fit on a road bike is much more important for your comfort What a mountain bike and adjust fairly quickly if the bike is wrong. Do not expect the hatred and ill at ease that believes in cycling road sucks (And I tell you that anyone who is primarily a mountain bike and Bonehead of gravity.) It is always best to do that with a bike shop advised however. Can not emphasize this enough. : O)
