What is the difference between red tags and green tags for dirt bikes.?
I need to learn anything I need to know before I get a dirtbike.
In California there are two levels of tags for off road bikes. Most 2 strokes have red off road tags that mean they can only ridden in certain places during certain times of the year. This is because the red tag bikes have higher exhaust emissions. Most 4 strokes have green off road tags that mean there are no restrictions on when and where they can be ridden.
The CA DMV and the NFS have the restriction guide lines for red tag bikes on their websites.
