How to start competing in show jumping?
15 years and I have owned my horse for a year, she is 14.2hh and want start competition in it, but I do not know what to do? Neither showed western pleasure 30 years ago, and I made some Dressage shows 15 years. ottb my back was more like a hunter so it is the direction he went. I'm used to riding a seat balanced but was not familiar with everything they sought in the jumper ring hunter. so I went to a few shows just to see. I was helped. I also had my video companion a few weeks for me to work on improvements … I can not find an instructor to come to the farm I ride distant. Then I started going to a series of performances. same classes, different operating each month. I am following the sequence classes. first show was just walking, jogging. second sample was off at a gallop to a trot, and next week will be one of two classes, plus a class of hunters hope. it should be good for us. who has a series of focus groups, then the lines and everyone one at a time turn around and jump a small line of two fences. this is where we start! I like watching videos on youtube. and I would like to attend shows that I love you. to see how the horses are heated and can be handy to store the course. if u do not have a parent teacher video you, and examine it. bopoks some base jumpers would also be useful. .. best of luck and do not be discouraged!
