how do you train a 6 month old half german sheppard, half lab male puppy?
plz help he is a german sheppard lab mix and my dad says he will be gone if he doesnt get potty trained!!!!! plz help!!
i’ve housebroken many puppies. it’s easy if you know how to do it.
1) put the dog on a regular feeding schedule. you put his dish on the floor for exactly 10 minutes. if he doesnt eat it, take it away. after a day or two he will learn to eat quickly when the food is on the floor. don’t worry about him skipping a meal or two, no dog will starve himself. this is very important because puppies ALWAYS go to the bathroom after they eat.
2) after he’s eaten, take him outside where he’s supposed to do his job, and reward him with a nice liver treat when he does it.
by controlling how and when he eats, you’ll be able to control how and when he eliminates. pretty simple concept, but it takes some hard work and stickin to a schedule.
